Sadie, Ch. Omegan’s Make Me An Angel, finished in style at the Rocky Mountain Cluster in Denver, CO. She took Winners Bitch the first day for a 3 pt. major, Reserve Winners Bitch the second day, Winners Bitch/Best of Winners/Best of Opposite Sex the third day to finish her championship, and then Best of Opposite Sex her first time out as a Special! She also got her first leg of her Rally Novice title. Shadow also got the first leg of his Rally Excellent title at this show.
Jason, Layla, Shadow and I went to a Lure Coursing trial in Falcon, CO. Layla ran both days, and got her Junior Coursing title. Shadow got to run in the fun run, and he did really well, other than his taking a pee-break in the middle of the run! The Sighthound people got a kick out of watching a Border Collie lure course.
We came back from the Plum Creek/Colorado Kennel Club dog shows with four new titles and a major! Sadie won Winners Bitch on Saturday for a 3 point major. Shadow, Gyp, and Faith all earned their Rally Advanced (RA) titles, and Faith also got her Companion Dog (CD) title.
Pirate and Shadow both passed their initial evaluation toward becoming HABIC (Human Animal Bond in Colorado) Therapy Dogs. I am very excited as this program works with schools, physical therapists, and all sorts of areas where therapy dogs are useful.
New Year = New activities for our dogs. I’ve just started tracking with Pirate, and he is showing great promise. I have also just started herding with Shadow, who is doing great! These boys really can do it all!
Shadow went to a show in Longmont, CO where he picked up the third and final leg of his Rally Novice title (RN). He is now Bismark’s Outback Cupid CD RN CGC! Keep earning those titles Shadow!
The Denver show went very well for Omegan Border Collies! We came back with lots of ribbons, experience, and two new titles! Pirate did very well for his first show, and even got to go to Bred-By Exhibitor Groups. Shadow got two legs toward his Rally Novice title, and Faith finished her Rally Novice title. Shadow surprised all of us and got his CD! I am so proud of everyone.
Today is not only Valentines Day, but also the day I picked up my number one sweetheart, Shadow. Six years ago today my mom and I drove 15 hours to pick up my baby boy.
Today is Shadow’s 6th birthday! As a birthday present, he graduated from intermediate to advanced agility. I can’t believe so many years have gone by and my little boy is already 6. My only birthday wish for him is that we will have many more wonderful years to come.
