Rescue a Dog

Because of our love for Border Collies, we want to be involved in Border Collie Rescue. In the past we have taken in foster dogs, but it is difficult with the number of dogs we have. The dogs listed on this page are either available for adoption, or have lived in our home and have found good forever homes.

If you are interested in providing a home for a foster we post on this page, email me . If you have found a Border Collie, or have a Border Collie you need to re-home, feel free to contact us, and we will try to assist you.

If you are looking for a dog, but do not see one that you are interested in on this page, please email me. I have a lot of contacts that may have dogs in need of homes.

Spin - Adopted

(formerly Summer’s Red Spider Aw Rider)

AKC registration #DL86622504

As you can see, Spin in an AKC registered Border Collie, who is a lovely red and white color. He was whelped Februrary 21, 2001. He is a neutered male, who is up-to-date on all of his shots. His former owner was no longer able to keep him. She competed in obedience trials with Spin, and he has earned his CD and CDX titles. Now living with us, he has taken an obedience class, a beginner flyball class, and a beginner agility class. His favorite activities are eating kibble out of Kongs, off leash walks in the woods (he has a fantastic recall), retrieving toys, and he really loves both agility and flyball.

Spin is not good with cats, but gets along fine with other dogs. He is mildly thunderphobic, but does well if you play ball during the storm. Spin has some minor issues, but we have figured out ways that make him simple to live with.

Update: Spin has found a wonderful home with Claudia in Albuquerque, NM. He gets to go to work with her, and she will be training him for obedience, agility, flyball, and maybe some herding.

Claudia says:

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for Spin. I could not have found a more loving dog then him. I am amazed how he fit right in down here at my house. So far we have had no issues whatso ever.”

Pete - Adopted

Pete is a 4 year old Border Collie. He is fun dog to be around.

He is not good with cats, and contantly trys to chase them. He love learning new tricks, and enjoys showing off the tricks he knows. He is good with kids, but tends to be clumsy, so he could potentially knock a small child down. He enjoys playing ball, frisbee, or any sort of fetch game. He would be great in an active home where he would recieve lots of attention and exercise.

Update: Pete is living with Kevin Hughes in Colorado. Kevin is having so much fun with him, and Pete is having a great time being an only dog! I can’t thank Kevin enough for providing such an amazing home for this special boy.

Update: Pete has a new little sister, Laeyla, another Border Collie who he can run and play with!
