Layla gained the final point for her Championship at the Bismarck, ND shows on August 1, 2009. A huge THANK YOU goes out to her breeder Alice Caplinger for handling Layla for 14/15 of her points, and for letting us have such a wonderful girl in our lives. Layla will now work on finishing her Field Championship in Lure Coursing, and there may be some Rally titles in her future!
Layla is now CH Koda’s You Got Me On My Knees SC

Shadow and I competed for the last time in Rally, at my home show, the Buckhorn Valley Kennel Club. Shadow did wonderfully, getting a 98 for 1st place (in a large Excellent B class!) on Saturday and a 94 on Sunday. He is now “officially” retired from competition at age 10 1/2, and will now enjoy the good life. He will always continue on with his favorite activities of going swimming, going on car rides, and soliciting attention; but I was so happy to have him “play my silly games” one last time.
Shadow is now: Bismark’s Outback Cupid CD RE CGC
Kelsey’s Gordon Setter, Giacomo, also picked up 1 point by going WD/BOW.

At the tender age of 20 months, Chance has earned two new herding titles! He now has his Herding Trial Dog I and Herding Ranch Dog I titles from AHBA. Congratulations to Kathleen and Chance! He is now:
Omegan’s Come By Chance STDs HTDIs HRDIs
Chance also competed in Rally for the first time and earned two legs toward his Rally Novice title, so I’m sure we will be bragging on Chance again in no time!

Jack attended a herding clinic with Gordon Watt, and impressed him so much that he will be travelling to England next year to train and trial in ISDS trials with Gordon. This is an amazing accomplishment for a show bred Border Collie, and if he is able to pass the working test for ISDS, he will become the 2nd show bred Border Collie in history to get an ISDS Register on Merit. A big thanks to Jack’s owner, Merry Russell, for being willing to let Jack live out his full potential. We like to think that this accomplishment is in part due to the amazing line of Border Collies that we have started with, as well as those we have been able to breed to. We will keep the site updated on Jack’s accomplishments in England.
