Omegan’s Secret Angel PT HCT DSA (Tori)

Tori is the puppy I kept from our second litter, which was a line breeding between Faith and her dam’s littermate, Joey. She is an amazing dog, and I couldn’t ask for a better training partner and friend. She is quick as a whip and loves to “teach mom how to give her a treat”, which is her view of clicker training. She is a real sweetheart to those who know and love her, but takes a while to trust new strangers.
I will be training Tori in obedience, rally, agility, and herding. She is wonderful to work on sheep, because she truly understands that it is a team sport, something my boys don’t seem to get! She also has naturally square flanks, and is very thoughtful with sheep. She will most likely start trialling in April 2008.
Tori is also a Dog Scout and has earned badges in First Aid, Backpacking, Art of Shaping, Frisbee, Obstacle Course I, II, and III and Agility I and II.

I had planned to show her in the conformation ring, but due to her small size and less than ideal temperment, I have decided to stick to performance with her. She will not be bred, and would be spayed except that she is participating in a study for a vaccination to keep bitches out of heat. While we are constantly working on her attitude about strangers, and have strong hopes that the issue will resolve with training, we are adamant about only breeding Border Collies who are sound in mind and body. Tori is a perfect example of a dog who has many wonderful qualities, but because she does not fit our description of the perfect Border Collie temperament, she will not be bred.
*News Flashes*
- Tori earns her HCT certificate from AHBA. The judges just loved her style and natural talent.
- Tori earns her Pre-Trial Tested (PT), and if that wasn’t good enough, she met two new strangers and tried to crawl up in their laps…no issues at all!
